If you have ever searched for a newsletter generator and manager with a mailing distribution tool, you would have found a lot of them. But as soon as the tool is a bit developped and more complex than the basic things, you have to user you wallet.

T&P Studio started N-LOG in order to provide a free NewsLetter Generator tool that can:

-  Manage contents easily, such as Articles & Edito

-  Handle various layouts, for instance with a colum on the left/right or without any

-  Switch between different visual renders via the use of Templates

-  Be extended via the use of Widgets to always add more possibilities

-  Generate Newsletters dynamically given an Edito, Articles and Widgets contents

-  Handle multiple position of Widgets in the Newsletter layout

-  Manage mailing list distribution with two different types of mailings: Broadcast (all
   the recipients receive the same email message) or Personnalized (each recipient receives
   an email message personnalized with his/her own data, for instance nickname)
   This feature is not fully implemented in the BETA 1.x versions

-  Manage lists of recipients with global information data (such as email address and
   nickname) to which can be added personnalized data (possibilities are unlimited)

-  Be available in different languages
   The BETA 1.x versions implement English and French only

-  Can be easily installed and deployed on a webserver, via an installation wizard

-  Can alert you if you reach the Newsletter sending deadline and it is still not ready.

More features are available with N-LOG. The easiest way to figure them out is to try it!

One more time, N-LOG is still in BETA version, and the list above may be subject to additions and changes before the final release.

1] The first thing to do is to create a new Newsletter in N-LOG, given a title, a subtitle and some other information such as the sending deadline, choose whether or not you want to add an edito and which Visual Template to use and the genera layout of your Newsletter (all these parameters can be changed later if you are finally not satisfied with the choices you made here).

2] Then comes the time to let your writter skills express, by typing in the Edito for your Newsletter - at least if you want to display an Edito!

3] Redacting the Articles takes time, but a complete editor helps you adding tables, pictures, styles so that you don't have to touch at the code itself. Of course, if you want to see and change the HTML code, you can switch the views and manage it.

4] Then comes the time to add Widgets. Some widgets are installed with N-LOG by default, such as "Summary", "Pictures" and "Key Dates". You can choose to add one or more instances of these Widgets, configure them and finally choose their position in the Newsletter layout.

5] Now comes the time to see your Newsletter in action! You can preview it, and if you don't like it, just change all the things you want, such as the order of the articles, to display or not a picture on the Widget picture, to disable a Widget (without deleting it), and so on.

6] When you are ready to jump, Generate your Newsletter, which also sends it to the Editor in Chief.

7] Finally choose a mailing list and let N-LOG send it for you!

8] Now you can archive this Newsletter and enjoy the precious time you earned using N-LOG compared to the "old methods" ;-)
